Your Support in Action: Madagascar Water & Agriculture Update

Because of your support, formerly arid land is now thriving with water and food production.

Thanks to your ongoing support, to date, 25 wells and 15 water towers are now providing access to clean water for more than 21,000 people, with many surrounding villages also relying on these sources during the dry season.

Global Health Ministries Water Project Consultant, Andry Ranaivoson, meets with the Prime Minister of Madagascar, Mamitiana Rajaonarison, to discuss the success of Global Health Ministries water project.

Thanks to ongoing support from donors like you, GHM’s water project in Madagascar is improving conditions for people in Androy, Madagascar’s most impoverished of 23 regions. According to Global Health Ministries, project consultant, Andry Ranaivoson, “Androy is often called the ‘graveyard of projects’ because many past development efforts from other NGOs have not been successful.”

Thanks to your support, GHM’s water project is highly successful. A recent field-work audit by Madagascar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended Global Health Ministries for successfully implementing multiple development projects across the country.

Your support of water access projects is making a difference! Despite an unusually short rainy season, 11 villages produced a combined harvest of 18,329 lbs of crops including corn, melon, squash, and tomatoes through drip irrigation and limited rainfall.

As drought conditions worsen in Androy, six villages now receive reliable water access from the Angodobo site made possible through your support. With famine looming due to minimal rainfall, sustainable water and irrigation systems have helped farmers expand food production from small gardens to acre-sized fields, strengthening food security and sustaining thousands of lives.
