Frequently asked questions.

What’s the Lutheran connection?

Global Health Ministries is an independent Lutheran nonprofit, initially conceived by Lutheran medical missionaries to support and assist their local colleagues and the people they had come to love in countries where they served. GHM continues to build the capacity of Lutheran mission hospitals, rural clinics and health programs of the Lutheran Church overseas.

Our volunteers and financial supporters include Lutherans of many denominations, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC), North American Lutheran Church (NALC), and others.

Of course, all people who share our vision for a world where everyone has access to a healthy life can participate. From donors and volunteers to networks of organizations that benefit public health, GHM remains open to collaboration that builds the capacity of Lutheran health systems around the world and benefits health for all people.
