Bringing Life-Changing Power in Liberia

Thanks to your faithful support, Global Health Ministries continues to expand access to reliable healthcare in Liberia through life-changing solar energy projects. For more than 15 years, GHM and Pickering Energy have partnered to install sustainable solar systems that strengthen hospitals and healthcare training centers.

In March 2026, several major projects were completed that are transforming patient care, education, and daily life.

After: The team in Phebe Hospital’s new control room following completion of the solar system.

At Curran Hospital, a new 60 kW solar power system now provides 100% of the energy needed to operate the hospital around the clock. Previously, the hospital relied on a diesel generator that could only run 6–8 hours each day. Today, thanks to your support the hospital has dependable electricity for patient care, water pumping, emergency lighting, and critical medical operations 24 hours a day, while reducing dependence on expensive diesel generators.

At the Lutheran University of Zorzor, nursing students and faculty now have reliable power for classrooms, the library, computer center, and security lighting. The new 30 kW solar system fully powers daytime operations and evening learning spaces, while a relocated solar system now provides electricity to the dormitories for students at night.

At Phebe Hospital, where unreliable utility power frequently disrupted healthcare services, a new 90 kW solar system now supplies approximately 60% of the hospital’s energy needs.

The system supports critical hospital operations while reducing dependence on expensive diesel generators. Thank you for helping provide safer patient care and ensuring students have a reliable, supportive environment where they can learn, study, and prepare for their healthcare careers.
