Continuity During Change

After ten years of service to Global Health Ministries, Pastor Doug Cox recently resigned his position as our Executive Director. I’m sure all of you join me in thanking Doug for his tremendous service to the global community that GHM partners with and serves.

It was my pleasure to work side-by-side with Doug the last five years, being blessed by the tremendous work of GHM and its partners. We wish Doug and Monica great success in the future and thank them both.

If you would like to send Pastor Doug a card or personal note of appreciation, please mail to Pastor Doug Cox, c/o Global Health Ministries, 7831 Hickory Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55432, or e-mail communications@ghm.org. All messages will be delivered to him.

During this period of transition, I am pleased to share that long-time GHM volunteer leader and board and executive committee member, Diane Campaeu, graciously agreed to serve as our Interim Executive Director, ensuring stability and continuity for all of GHM. Diane brings a wealth of personal experience and keen insight into the mission of GHM, as someone who works in the warehouse four days a week.

In her professional life, Diane served as an RN and hospital director of medical surgical nursing, supervising 70 employees. She was also a consultant for hospital operational reviews and patient safety processes and procedures. Diane will serve in this position until a new Executive Director is selected.

During this time of change, we are grateful for the GHM staff who are committed to our mission and faithfully work each day to help the hands that heal around the globe. Your ongoing prayers and words of encouragement to them are appreciated.

The GHM Board of Directors is using this period of change in leadership to conduct a thorough review of all GHM operations, with an eye toward the future and preparing GHM for the next 40 years.

The Board’s efforts include ensuring our mission statement and mission focus accurately reflect the opportunities we have in supporting our country partners and doing that to the best of our ability. It is also reviewing how our staff are organized to support our country partners in the most effective way, focusing on our strengths and looking to deepen already strong relationships.

The Board greatly values the generous contributions of all of our donors and is focused on ensuring our project management capacity is increased, to include hiring a new co-director of consulting with significant project management responsibility. The Board is serious about its fiduciary responsibility and is committed to doing our very best to honor our partnerships with you.

In closing, please know that GHM is in great hands with our dedicated, professional staff and huge team of volunteers. The future is bright for GHM and we look forward to our continued partnership with all of you.
