Volunteer Community Health/Public Health Consultants in Uganda

Current GHM Consulting Needs: GHM Consulting is looking for an individual to volunteer with community and public health experience to serve as part of the team to partner with the Lutheran Church of Uganda (LCU). The purpose of the consultation is to assess the Lutheran Church of Uganda health facilities and the community health needs. Magdeline Aagard, Co-Director of GHM Consulting, will be convening the consultation team. The consultation team, which will travel to Uganda, will be comprised of two individuals with expertise and experience in public and community health to partner with the LCU team. In addition, there will be team support in the U.S. as needed.
Expertise: The individual should be an individual with experience in community health and/or public health. Experience working in a developing country would be beneficial but is not required.
The project objectives are to:
Improve the region’s healthcare through assessment of the LCU’s current health services delivery and the health needs of the community.
This will include:
Collecting and reviewing health data
Visiting the LCU health facilities to assess current health services delivery
Assessing current Community Health Worker and Village Health Team programs in the catchment areas to determine feasibility of augmenting current programs.
Time commitment:
This is a 3-year project. During the three years we anticipate 1-2 visits to Uganda each year. Zoom calls with the team will occur monthly during the first year and quarterly thereafter. Costs associated with travel would be covered by GHM.
