Volunteerism is Growing at GHM

GHM is currently in the midst of creating and defining our volunteer positions within the warehouse to offer more clarity and direction as well as better promote the needs of GHM more specifically. We have defined seven key warehouse roles, all fulfilling a different need to help the hands that heal around the globe.
Equipment Repair Volunteer
We need volunteers who are biomedical professionals, or related experience, to help inspect and test medical equipment, including safety checks, convert power to 220v/50hz, making sure all equipment include accessories, manuals, and spare parts. This position is an important one at GHM. We need you!
Dental Repair Volunteer
Are you a retired dentist or hygienist? We need your help to organize dental instruments and hand pieces, repair dental chairs and lights, and more. Join other professionals and help strengthen dental care among our partners overseas.
Picking & Loading Volunteer
Whenever we need to load a container, we need people to help us prep and pack it! Picking and Loading goes through the whole warehouse, gets the boxes that are needed, gets them ready, and then loads the container.
Generalist
A jack of all trades, the generalist is able to step in wherever is needed around the warehouse. They have a knowledge of everything that happens in the warehouse, and a willingness to learn when they might not know how to accomplish something.
Receiving Volunteer
Receiving volunteers are the first people that a donation will interact with. They will maintain the receiving area, welcome donations, and enter items into the inventory system.
Linens Volunteer

Linen volunteers inspect, fold, and box hospital linens, including scrubs, gowns, drapes, sheets, and more. GHM receives donations of newborn and hospice kits, and our linen volunteers check them for quality and their content.
Rough & Fine Sorter
Do you like sorting items? We can use those skills. Come and volunteer in our rough and fine sorting areas, and help us to go through the donations we receive. Sort by category, look for expiration dates, and make sure everything is in order.
If you know of anyone who would be interested in any of these roles, please reach out to sambuegler@ghm.org for more information.
