The Symposium will feature Rev. Jen Nagel, the Bishop of the Minneapolis Area ELCA Synod, and guest speaker Dr. Shailey Prasad.
Bishop Jen Nagel was elected to a six-year term as Bishop at the Minneapolis Area Synod Assembly on May 4, 2024. At the time of her election, she was serving as Lead Pastor at University Lutheran Church of Hope near the University of Minnesota. Jen finds energy in walking with congregations and leaders as they listen for the Holy Spirit and enter into times of transformation.
Dr. Shailey Prasad is an academic physician, researcher, and executive leader specializing in global health equity, primary care systems, and rural medicine. He currently serves as Associate Vice President of Global & Rural Health and the Carlson Chair of Global Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School. His efforts center on strengthening primary care, advancing health equity, and developing collaborative partnerships that support sustainable improvements in community health worldwide.
