Welcoming Heather Robinson as Executive Director

Global Health Ministries is thrilled to announce that Heather Robinson has been named our new Executive Director! She will begin serving on April 1, 2026, becoming the fifth Executive Director since our founding in 1987.

Heather is a global health leader with more than 20 years of experience directing international health and development programs. A former diplomat with USAID, she has managed large, complex portfolios focused on improving health systems and expanding access to care in underserved communities.

Most recently, Heather served as Infectious Diseases Director for USAID in Ghana, where she led a $20 million portfolio addressing HIV/AIDS, global health security, tuberculosis, and neglected tropical diseases. She has worked closely with host governments, international donors, and nonprofit partners to design and implement programs that strengthen health systems and improve health outcomes. Previous to USAID, Heather held leadership roles with Catholic Relief Services in Burkina Faso and the Peace Corps in Zambia and Botswana, overseeing program strategy, staff development, and large multidisciplinary teams.

With roots in Minnesota and South Dakota, Heather has lived in 8 African countries and is fluent in French. She brings warmth, vision, and a deep commitment to building relationships and advancing life-changing health outcomes.
