Global Health Ministries is a volunteer-powered organization! It takes more than 1,500 volunteers a year to make this ministry happen, and we are blessed with faithful friends who have served for decades, plus a growing number of new volunteers.
Here are some ways people help out.
In the Warehouse
All are welcome – no medical expertise required, just a heart for service!
Individuals help out by receiving and sorting donated medical supplies, preparing items for shipping, providing quality control for hands-on projects, and more.
If you are a medical professional, we can put your skills to work in the “fine sort” room identifying and processing donated materials that go all over the world to help the hands that heal. And if you have repair experience, particularly of medical equipment, we could use your help! All of the medical equipment that is donated to GHM is tested, repaired as needed and certified before sending overseas.
Congregations, local companies and hospitals often send adult groups to volunteer in GHM’s warehouse.
We’re also always excited to welcome youth groups to sort and pack donated medical supplies. GHM is a Summer Stretch site for many youth groups in the summer, and there’s always room for more!
Sign up on this page or contact John Scheck at 763-586-9590 with questions or to schedule a time to come in, or come any Tuesday evening when we welcome volunteers between 6:30 and 8:30 pm. The first Tuesday of the month we also host Volunteer Orientation for new volunteers at 7 pm – join us!
First time volunteers in our warehouse should fill out a form and waiver for our records. You can either fill them out when you arrive or download the form and waiver and bring them with you.
In the Office
Every other month volunteers come to GHM on a Wednesday to help collate our newsletter and prepare it for mailing. We could use your help! If interested, call us at 763-586-9590 and talk to Wanda. These are the dates for 2019:
