I joined the GHM team in 2015 having served as a long-term missionary in Madagascar, and 20 years as a Lutheran pastor.  At GHM, I get to see the impact of healing ministries every day in places where daily struggles to survive against poverty, violence and fear have become too "normal."

I love to volunteer teaching Islamic studies and Christian-Muslim relations.  Otherwise I’ve enjoyed volunteering to support my sons in educational and Community Theater and/or acting and singing with church groups myself.

Fried grasshoppers (huge ones!) and chicken feet are some odd food experiences I had in Madagascar (I turned down lemur meat).  What I really loved was grilled tuna just hours after my sons and I caught it in the Indian Ocean from a dugout canoe.

One Bible verse that has given me focus for decades is 1 Peter 3:15, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
