Global Jeopardy Game

Global Jeopardy is an exciting new game by Global Health Ministries where everyone learns something about some country!

To play Global Jeopardy, divide your group into smaller groups of two to four people. Give a country information sheet (see below) to each group and name them "Team Tanzania," "Team Bangladesh," "Team Cameroon," etc. This will give each group a sense of belonging to, or identification with, that country.

Next, have each team spend five to ten minutes reading and learning about their country until each person in the group has a basic understanding of that country, such as: geography, culture, language, religion, economy, etc.

Distribute five blank 4x6 cards to each team and have them write down five seperate questions on their country. For example, Question: "What is the capital of Chile?" Answer: "Santiago." Or, Question: "True or False, in Papua New Guinea there are over 715 different indigenous languages spoken?" Answer: "True!" The questions can be as difficult or as simple as the group wants.

Once each team has finished writing their questions and answers, collect the cards and thoroughly shuffle.

Now you're ready to play Global Jeopardy!

Select one person to read the questions, the moderator, and keep track of the score. The moderator will read the questions in the order they were shuffled. Once the question is read, each team, except the team that wrote that question, will have one minute to answer it correctly. This is done by the moderator watching which team had their hand(s) up first following the reading of the question. Again, the team that wrote the question cannot answer immediately. If none of the other teams answer, then that team may answer their own question. Hopefully they will get it right.

If a team gets the question right, hand the card to that team. This will allow the moderator, and everyone else, to keep track of the score. Have the moderator continue to read all the questions until none are left. Have each team count the number of cards they have and that's their score. Whichever team has the most wins!
