48-G0001 Madagascar: SALFA Renewal Campaign

A GHM management consultation team has found needed changes and improvements have been made, and is recommending that we resume collaboration with SALFA and seed the re-start of their operations. SALFA is one of the largest Lutheran health care systems in the world.  With the restoration of conditions for accountability, we can help SALFA fulfill its promise for Christ’s healing mission.  Goal: $60,000.  To see full story, click HERE.

 

SEFAM

SEFAM Nursing Scholarships (GHM Project #48-E4001).  The Malagasy Lutheran Church offers a three-year nursing training course for 30 carefully selected students, located in Antsirabe. Since the inception of this program in 1988, over 120 nursing students have graduated.  Goal: $33,000

SEFAM Building Program

SEFAM Nursing School Building Project (GHM Project #48-C6200)  Now operating from leased facilities, this project will construct classrooms, labs and offices for the Lutheran Nursing School on the grounds of Andranamadio Hospital in Antsirabe.  Goal: $84,314

 

 

Ejeda Hospital

Ejeda Operations (GHM Project #48EJ-P0001).  GHM provides salary support and grants for the purchase of needed medical supplies and equipment to an exceptional leader of Christ’s healing ministry in Madagascar, Dr. Elson Randrianatenaina.  Goal: $20,000


   

Rural Clinics

Rural Clinic Support (GHM Project #48RC-P0001).  GHM is providing salary and supplies subsidies for twelve struggling clinics in the most remote areas of the country trying to assist the clinics to become self-sufficient.

Pharmacotherapy

Pharmacotherapy for Mentally Ill (GHM Project #48-D6000).  Ten church health centers have been involved in a primary psychiatric and epileptic care program with local religious renewal movements that have created “Tobys” which are healing communities that care for the mentally ill. Goal: $17,000.

AVIA

Anosy Villages Integrated Action Project. Based both on growing consensus regarding best practices for development initiatives and a broadened definition of health to include evangelism, education, clean water and sanitation, modern agricultural practices, traditional primary health services and access to credit through micro-lending programs. PROJECT 48IV-G2050. Goal: $54,000.
