Phebe Hospital Materials Management (GHM Project #46PH-C6150)  A new medical supplies storehouse and training for a new materials manager will better enable Phebe staff to access medical supplies shipped to them by Global Health Ministries for patient care.  Goal: $16,500

Phebe Materials Management Project Approved

Global Health Ministries has now approved a proposal from Phebe Hospital in Liberia to renovate the nursing storeroom (new shelves, drop-down ceiling, exhaust fans, and paint), build a container park with four 40’ containers (dock-height concrete platform to receive shipments and provide additional storage), and offer salary support to hire and train a full-time materials manager. Project: 46PH-C6150. Goal: $16,500.

Building materials will be purchased in Monrovia and volunteers from the ELCA Upper Susquehanna Synod, the companion Synod for the Lutheran Church in Liberia, have offered to assist the staff at Phebe Hospital. ELCA Global Mission is also recruiting a volunteer to serve at Phebe to help establish an efficient materials management process, more effectively utilize supplies from GHM and other partners, and provide training and support for this new position.
