Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Celebration!

Some of us who have been watching our calendars noticed that next year will mark the 25th Anniversary of Global Health Ministries’ incorporation to pursue the mission God has called us to serve and blessed us all in serving. It sounded to us like a good reason to hold a celebration.

09-A3410 Cameroon: Hospital Information System

A pioneering effort in developing an integrated information system adapted to mission hospital requirements.  A software developer from Madagascar with a record of success in his own country was found and evaluated by the Cameroon leadership to provide them with a customized, French language system.  Advance gifts have brought this project within reach of completion.  Goal to complete:  $15,000

 

10EM-P0001 CAR: Emmanuel Health Center at Gallo

The dream of the Church and the people of the Gallo region where no other health services exists, a new primary health care center with extensive village outreach programs has now opened. Located in the center of a region identified by Doctors Without Borders with the second highest maternal/infant mortality in the world, the patient census has grown so rapidly that expansion plans are already underway.  We are committed to help support operating expenses for at least ten years. $84,202  (Click here for report on impressive first full year of operations)

   

48-G0001 Madagascar: SALFA Renewal Campaign

Following two separate intensive consultations to address management deficiencies with the leadership of the Malagasy health system called SALFA, the GHM team found needed changes and improvements have been made, and is recommending that we resume collaboration with SALFA and seed the re-start of their operations.  SALFA is one of the largest Lutheran health care systems in the world.  With the restoration of conditions for accountability, we can help SALFA fulfill its promise for Christ’s healing mission.  Goal: $60,000

 

Matching Grant for Shipping

GHM is excited to annouce a challenge match grant totaling $96,415. The grant will match one dollar for every two dollars contributed to the GHM shipping program (#99-S0001) or shipping to any particular country of the donor’s choice. Consider a generous donation today in support of GHM shipping!

Clean Water in Nigeria: A New Partnership with Minneapolis Area Synod

As part of a partnership between Global Health Ministries, the Minneapolis Area Synod (MAS) and the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), I traveled to Nigeria to learn about the people and their culture. It was not a sightseeing trip.
