The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Papua New Guinea (ELC-PNG) and the Gutnius Lutheran Church (LCMS-related) have strong and vibrant health programs, with over 1 million members out of a total of six 6 million for the country And in partnership with other denominations in PNG and through the Churches Medical Council, 70-80% of all health care delivered in PNG is through the Church. The ELC-PNG Lutheran Health Services is divided into three main regions: Morobe Province (Lae), Madang Province, and Western Highlands. The Gutnius Lutheran Church Health Services is located in the Enga Province.
